2. No, really. Hippies.
3. We lived in a 100 year old house with no foundation. And all was well. Really well for dad, if you know what I mean.
4. I was loved mostly. Don't be scared by my dad's Jesus hair.
5. I had a bit of an attitude.
6. Then there was the complete inability to do the hair...along with the striking similarity to a 35 year old man: my father.
7. I don't know how to prepare you for this one; I'll just have to do it quick like a bandaid. Here's my "awkward stage". Uh, yeah. Lots of attention from boys here. So, imagine my delight when I started looking like this. And this. And then this.
8. Alot of drinking ensued. No, ALOT - love my yellow hair. Followed by good hair (I'm in the middle - and those are some high pants). And then really good hair.
9. Then I met him. And I liked it.
10. And he lured me with lots of shiny things.
12. Then I my body went from this.....to this.
13. But, then I had this. Which turned into this. And then this. And this. Also this. Which makes us this.
I just want to say you Daughter is sooooo cute!

We have the same parents!!!! Exactly the same Dad. Are we related? Your parents, however, have changed. Mine, despite being divorced, have stayed somewhat the same (especially my dad). I recently HAD to cut my hair because it was looking EXACTLY like my father's hair. Have you seen "The Sweetest Thing"? The pic in #8 of you with two friends reminds me of when the girls crash a wedding... Especially the girl on the far right.Great 13. Thanks for sharing. I LOVE photo albums, even if I don't know the peeps, so this was wonderful.

Ha! I love all the pics. All 10,000 ;) I love that you had a sink full of flowers in your living room as a kid. That's just awesome. Your dad has a lot of hair. My dad did, too. Men and their hair.Your daughter is a doll! And I call Snickers "Doodlebug" all the time. Now you can sleep! ;)

...And your daughter looks JUST like you!!!! I mean. JUST like you. I love this post Lena. We all get to see the transformation of Lena... Not to mention the transformation of Lena's Dad's hair! (which was fab in the 70's btw.) I love that you had hippie parents and I love even more that we owned the same exact clothes when we were kids! (Yeah. I had some of the same shirts as you.)Also glad to know that even someone as hot as you went through the "awkward" stage. At least you came out of it though. I cannot say the same. ;)

This was one of my favorite posts EVER!!! I loved everything about it. I had hippy parents and bad hair too! Oh, and your daughter's pictures absolutely melted my icy heart. It's in a puddle on the floor next to me right now.

Oh Lena! That was so much fun walking down memory lane with you. Way cool! Thanks. *smileMy parents were hippies too, but darn it! ... I don't have any pics for proof. My parents moved so much so, that they ended up losing most of our family photos. Ah well.btw ... I like your natural hair color better than the blonde highlights. But, either way you look great.Have a terrific Thursday, Lena! Love ya!

Excellent post. And very brave. Don't we all go through an awkward stage? Mine was awful - don't think I could share it.... But will have to save that idea for a 13 in the future. WAY in the future. Thanks for seeing my 13.
